Agency(New Delhi): The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has initiated ‘Sangam: Digital Twin,’ a pioneering venture set to redefine the infrastructure landscape. The initiative seeks Expressions of Interest (EoI) from industry leaders, startups, MSMEs, academic institutions, innovators, and visionaries. ‘Sangam: Digital Twin’ embodies the integration of unified data and collective intelligence, utilizing Digital Twin technology to create virtual replicas of physical assets for transformative infrastructure planning and futuristic design.
The Proof of Concept (PoC) for ‘Sangam: Digital Twin’ is divided into two stages, with the first stage focused on exploratory clarity and creative potential. The second stage is dedicated to the practical demonstration of specific use cases, creating a blueprint for future infrastructure projects. This project aims to develop scalable and replicable strategies for collaborative infrastructure endeavors.
India’s recent breakthroughs in communications and technology, including advancements in computational technologies and high-speed connectivity, have set the stage for this ambitious project. ‘Sangam: Digital Twin’ is envisaged to be a collaborative platform that leverages technologies like 5G, IoT, AI, AR/VR, and AI-native 6G to revolutionize infrastructure planning and design.
