Agency (Chennai): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), a prominent political party in Tamil Nadu, has expressed strong criticism of the state’s Governor, RN Ravi, through its mouthpiece “Murasoli.” The publication accused the Governor of behaving like a “King” and questioned his actions during his customary address in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.
Murasoli pointed out that if the Governor had different opinions on his address, he could have expressed them from Raj Bhavan, the Governor’s residence, instead of in the Assembly. The mouthpiece criticized his approach, stating that any remarks not acceptable to the Legislative Assembly would be expunged from the records. It highlighted that, for the first time, the Governor’s address has been expunged, which the DMK sees as a matter of informal conduct rather than pride for the position he holds.
Further, the article slammed Governor Ravi for repeatedly making the same mistakes and suggested that if he wishes to engage in politics, he should leave Raj Bhavan and rent a home in Saidapet for political activities. The mouthpiece accused the Governor’s actions of defaming Tamil Nadu and its people and called for accountability from both the Governor and the Union Government, which it claims instigates such acts.
This criticism comes in the backdrop of previous allegations by DMK’s Murasoli against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to tarnish the DMK government’s reputation. In a previous editorial, Murasoli challenged the ED’s claims of corruption in sand mining and accused the BJP of producing arbitrary figures and struggling to find evidence to support their accusations.
