Agency(New Delhi): Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, while campaigning in Ghaziabad for the BJP candidate Atul Garg, took a humorous jab at the opposition INDIA bloc, predicting their defeat in the forthcoming seven-phased Lok Sabha elections with a viral meme phrase, “desh ki janta moye moye kar degi” (the people will make the Opposition come a cropper). Singh critiqued the opposition’s alliance as a mere convenience among self-seeking leaders, doubting their capability to confront the NDA effectively.
This playful taunt traces back to the “moye moye” trend, which exploded in popularity on TikTok and other social media platforms, stemming from the Serbian song ‘Moye More’ by Teya Dora. Although the song conveys themes of anguish and despair, it has been humorously adapted by Indian netizens into various social media content.
In his speech, Singh also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, particularly highlighting the successful evacuation of 22,500 Indian students from Ukraine amid the conflict. According to Singh, Modi’s direct discussions with leaders from Ukraine, Russia, and the US were instrumental in this achievement, underscoring his unparalleled global influence and the enhanced stature of India on the world stage since 2014.
Rajnath Singh attributed the newfound respect India commands globally to Modi’s efforts, asserting that the world now attentively listens when India speaks at international forums.
The announcement of Atul Garg as the BJP candidate for the Ghaziabad constituency follows the withdrawal of Gen (retd) VK Singh from the election race. The Ghaziabad Lok Sabha constituency, spanning five assembly areas with over 29 lakh registered voters, is set to cast its votes on April 26, in the second phase of the elections, with the results awaited on June 4.
