New Delhi (Agency): In a dramatic turn of events, an encounter between the police and a suspected gang of cattle smugglers in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, left two smugglers and a police constable injured. Acting on a tip-off, the police team surrounded the gang near Gumsani village, leading to a gunfire exchange. Constable Arjun Khatri sustained a bullet injury on his hand during the operation. The injured smugglers, Saif Ali and Shan Mohammad, were subsequently arrested. The police later apprehended four more members of the smuggling gang, identified as Shariq, Saleem, Faheem, and Shami. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into their alleged involvement in cattle smuggling for slaughter.
