Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police have issued an advisory to minimise traffic congestion and ensure a smooth experience for devotees visiting Kali Mata Mandir Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu and Kandoli Mata Nagrota during the Navratri festival from October 3 to 12.
In a post on X, Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “General public, in particular those visiting Kali Mata Mandir Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu and Kandoli Mata Nagrota during the celebration of Holy Navratri festival w.e.f. 03-10-2024 to 12-10-2024 for paying obeisance, are advised to follow the particular route to reach the respective temple to minimise the traffic pressure/chaos of the approaching routes.”
“During the Navratri period, there will be one-way vehicular traffic movement towards the Bagh-e-Bahu Temple to keep the Bahu Fort Route free from obstructions,” they added in the post.
During Navratri period, no vehicle will be allowed to move towards Bagh-e-Bahu via Bahu Fort Road, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
“P/S Bagh-e-Bahu crossing will be a diversion point and all vehicles (LMVS/PSVs) going towards. Bahu-Fort shall be diverted from P/S Bagh-e-Bahu Crossing towards Qasim Nagar and from where the vehicles shall further be diverted towards Bye Pass Road NHW and Forest Check and then towards Kali Mata Mandir,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said in the post.
The devotees and motorists are advised to follow the one-way route strictly to keep the road free for movement of devotee vehicles without any obstacles, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
“During Navratri days, no heavy vehicle (HMV) shall be allowed to enter from Bye-Pass Naka NHW (Sidhra road) towards Bagh-e-Bahu/Bahu- Fort area. The devotees/general public shall park their vehicles in a specified parking slot only and not on either side of the road in any way. Wrongly parked vehicles on the salad stretch will be dealt with under the MV Act,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said in the post.
Parking Slots at Bagh-e-Bahu, New JDA Parking, Main Paid Parking Slot in front of Bagh-e-Bahu Temple, Ground of Government Higher Secondary School Bagh-e-Bahu, and Railway Parking Slot Bagh-e-Bahu.
The public in general and motorists in particular are requested to cooperate with the Traffic Police and avoid movement on the routes mentioned above during the religious program. In addition to the above devotees visiting Kandoli Mata Nagrota, during the Navratri Festival, they shall park their vehicles in the parking slot near the temple and not on the road in any way, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
