Agency (New Delhi): The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is set to host the inaugural Digital India futureSKILLS Summit in Guwahati on February 15, 2024. This landmark event, organized through the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT), will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The summit will bring together a diverse group including young Indians, thought leaders, industry experts, policymakers, educators, and technology enthusiasts. The primary focus will be on strategizing ways to nurture future-ready talent in India and globally.
Central to the discussions will be the impact of rapid global digitization, emphasizing new opportunities for Indian youth in next-generation technologies like AI, ML, Semiconductors, Robotics, and CyberSecurity. This summit marks a significant step towards India’s goal, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, to become a global hub for talent, capitalizing on the potential of emerging technologies.
The event aims to forge numerous partnerships with industry and academic institutes across the country. These collaborations are designed to align educational curricula with industry demands and standards. Over 20 strategic collaborations are set to be unveiled, involving NIELIT and major entities such as Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IIITM Gwalior, Wipro, and others.
The summit will host over 1,000 prominent attendees, including industry leaders and academics, and feature more than 30 innovative exhibitions. Keynote speakers include Ms. Jaya Jagadish from AMD India, Shri Ruchir Dixit from Siemens EDA, Shri Lingraju Sawkar from Kyndryl India, Shri Ganesh Gopalan from Gnani.AI, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri from IIT Bombay, Sh. Kuntal Sensarma from MeitY, and Dr. M.M. Tripathi, DG, NIELIT.
