Agency (Nagina/Bijnor): – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has fired a fresh salvo at opposition parties, accusing them of fomenting unrest and providing shelter to disruptive elements, even as he aggressively pitched the BJP’s all-encompassing development agenda ahead of crucial polls in the state’s Nagina and Bijnor constituencies.
Addressing rallies in both regions, Adityanath trained his guns on the Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP), and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), claiming they share a “history of stoking unrest and sheltering troublemakers.” In a sharp contrast, he asserted that the BJP has worked relentlessly for the welfare of all sections of society, irrespective of caste or creed.
Citing the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya as a testament to the party’s commitment to upholding the nation’s faith, Adityanath declared, “By physically installing Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya, the BJP has validated the faith of millions.” Simultaneously, he underscored the government’s efforts in ensuring the security of women and businesses, areas he claimed were neglected by previous regimes.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the rejuvenation of the “Panchtirth” sites associated with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a move aimed at honoring the architect of India’s Constitution and appealing to the state’s substantial Dalit voter base. “Not only has the majestic temple of Shri Ram been completed, but the revered Panchtirth associated with Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar have also undergone rejuvenation,” he stated.
Adityanath’s pitch extended to the BJP’s efforts in providing shelter to four crore impoverished citizens, a move he claimed demonstrated the party’s commitment to uplifting the underprivileged. He also cited the revamp of the birthplace of Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas in Varanasi as another feather in the government’s cap, appealing to the state’s sizable Ravidas community.
Drawing stark contrasts, Adityanath posed a choice for voters: “perpetuate caste-based politics or support inclusive development.” He asserted that while the opposition imposed curfews and curtailed freedoms, the BJP facilitated the peaceful Kanwar Yatra, a significant Hindu pilgrimage.
Shifting his focus to national accomplishments, the Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, claiming it has transformed India’s global standing. “A decade ago, India grappled with a lack of global respect and internal security concerns, stalling development amidst rampant corruption and disregard for eminent figures. Today, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a new India emerges as a global leader, earning admiration worldwide,” he declared.
On the issue of national security, Adityanath cited recent reports of 20 terrorists being killed in Pakistan over the past two years, underscoring India’s stringent zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. “Though the specifics of the source remain undisclosed, it underscores India’s stringent zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism,” he asserted.
Adityanath also highlighted the BJP’s efforts in addressing longstanding grievances of sugarcane farmers, who he claimed had endured years without payment under previous governments. “For the first time, the farmer has become a part of any government’s agenda,” he stated.
As the high-stakes polls in Nagina and Bijnor loom on April 19, Adityanath rallied supporters with a clarion call: “Jo Ram ko laye hai, hum unko layenge (those who brought back Lord Ram, we will bring them).” He urged voters to back the BJP, which he claimed had validated their faith by constructing the Ram Temple, while also addressing developmental concerns.
