New Delhi (Agency): Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav says the BJP government has let down the people of Uttar Pradesh. He made this statement after heavy rains caused waterlogging in the state. Yadav claims this problem shows corruption in the budget for ‘smart cities’.
“The BJP has betrayed the people of the state in the name of smart cities. There was corruption and loot in the budget for the scheme due to which the situation is palpable,” Yadav said. He added that not only Lucknow but also other cities are facing issues. Many places have too much water, and drains are overflowing.
The BJP government has been promising to make cities smarter and better. But Yadav says they did nothing on the ground. “Apart from showing dreams to the people of the state, the BJP government did nothing on the ground for them,” he stated.
This issue is serious because heavy rain has been falling since Sunday evening. The state relief commissioner’s office said 19 people have died because of rain-related problems in the last 24 hours. This makes the situation even more urgent.
Yadav was harsh about the BJP’s leadership in Lucknow. He said that even though they have been in charge of the city for a long time, the problems remain. “Roads have caved in. Many areas are waterlogged. People wanted to know where the budget for smart cities has gone,” he said.
The SP chief did not hold back his criticism. “The BJP government has failed on every front. All the claims of development and good governance of the BJP government are hollow. They have become a symbol of misgovernance and anarchy in Uttar Pradesh,” he stated.
This issue adds to the list of challenges the BJP government faces. As elections come closer, the waterlogging crisis could be a big topic. People are watching to see how the government will solve this problem. Will they find a quick fix, or is a bigger change needed? This event could also affect how people vote in the future.
