New Delhi (Agency): The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) unit in Tripura is planning a grand celebration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday on September 17, aiming to boost their campaign for the Lok Sabha elections due in 2024. Named “Namo Vikas Utsav,” the event is designed to showcase the people’s love for Modi and bolster support for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister, said BJP MLA Bhagaban Das.
Das spoke to reporters about the day’s planned activities. “The event will start with a yoga session at Kumarghat PWD Ground, where Chief Minister Manik Saha and other senior leaders will be present,” he said. Following the yoga session, “patriotic speeches will be delivered by well-known social activists.”
Das added that more than 500 volunteers wearing ‘NaMo’ T-shirts will take part in a cleanliness drive, aligning with the Prime Minister’s emphasis on a clean India. “The idea is to engage the community in constructive activities while highlighting the PM’s vision,” he said.
Keeping in line with Modi turning 73, the event will also focus on community welfare. A total of 73 households will receive Priority Group (PG) ration cards for food supplies. Furthermore, 73 copies of the Bhagavad Gita will be given to students, and 73 persons with disabilities will receive aid. An entertainment program featuring singers Ananya Chakraborty and Snigdhajit Bhowmik is also on the agenda.
With these celebratory activities, the BJP aims to not just honor the Prime Minister but also amplify their campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “This event is a launching pad to intensify our Lok Sabha campaign,” Das explained.
The plans reveal how the BJP in Tripura is leveraging Modi’s popularity to create momentum for the upcoming elections, reflecting a strategic blend of celebration and politics.
