Agency (Uttar Pradesh): A distressing incident occurred in Tenuba Chaubey village, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, where a 60-year-old priest named Ashok Chaubey was beaten to death following an altercation concerning loud music. The event took place on Tuesday night, and it has prompted the detention of three individuals in connection with the crime.
Superintendent of Police, Sankalp Sharma, reported that the altercation stemmed from the playing of a DJ at a local event, which led to a conflict between the priest and several village residents. Following the dispute, the priest was assaulted with sticks and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at a medical college where he was declared dead.
Among those detained is Hausla Paswan, as authorities continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal altercation. To prevent any further disturbances, police forces have been stationed in the village and around the temple area.
The local community and authorities are now dealing with the aftermath of this violent incident as the investigation unfolds.
