New Delhi (Agency): G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture and recently appointed President of the Telangana BJP, has expressed his party’s firm determination to unseat the ruling BRS government in the state.
At a party meeting, Reddy announced that the BJP would not rest until the BRS government was “buried” electorally. As the newly appointed Telangana BJP President, he emphasized the need to work as a united front to defeat the BRS.
In his speech, Reddy targeted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, referring to him as the “Naya Nizam”. He claimed that Rao and his family behave as if they were the owners and kings of Telangana, expecting the state to remain loyal to their offspring.
Reddy expressed, “I along with Sanjay and other leaders will work together and not rest until the BRS government is buried in Abids crossroads (Hyderabad).”
The Union Minister questioned the Chandrasekhar Rao government’s track record on various poll promises. He emphasized that the political “game has begun” and the people of Telangana would rally behind the BJP’s leadership to defeat the BRS.
On the topic of opposition parties forming alliances, Reddy expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s success in the 2024 general elections. “Not one KCR, but thousands of him keeping themselves upside down, Not one Owaisi, but even lakhs of Owaisis, even if they come cutting their heads, not one Rahul Gandhi, but thousands of Rahul Gandhis, even if they come, no one can stop Narendra Modi from coming to power in 2024,” he declared.
He announced that the BJP would initiate a series of programmes to highlight the “failures of the BRS government.”
The meeting also heard from other senior BJP figures, including former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, the party’s Telangana in-charge Tarun Chugh, and the former Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Sanjay Kumar encouraged the party leaders to allow Kishan Reddy to perform his duties peacefully.
Before taking charge of the party, Reddy offered prayers at Sri Bhagyalakshmi temple next to Charminar and garlanded the statues of Dr. B R Ambedkar and others, accompanied by senior party leaders.
Reddy’s appointment as the state party chief earlier this month came as an effort by the central BJP leadership to quell internal disagreements and ongoing media speculation about the party’s developments.
