Agency(Bengaluru): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heat wave conditions persisting in the northern districts of Karnataka until April 5, accompanied by anticipated dry weather throughout the state in the coming days.
According to the IMD, specific wind and weather patterns spanning from south Tamil Nadu to east Vidarbha are likely to cause isolated light rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra from April 5 to 8. Additionally, regions including Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Karnataka may experience rainfall from April 6 to 8.
On Tuesday, certain pockets of North Interior Karnataka encountered heat wave conditions, while Kodagu district received relief with a fresh spell of rainfall.
The IMD forecasts that districts such as Bagalkote, Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, Bellari, Belgaum, Koppal, and Gadag are prone to heat wave conditions.
For April 6, the IMD predicts light rainfall in isolated areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysuru districts, while the remaining districts are likely to remain dry.
On April 7, isolated light rainfall is expected in Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysuru districts, with dry weather anticipated in other areas.
April 8 may witness light rainfall in isolated places across several districts, while dry weather is expected elsewhere.
The IMD also forecasts hot and humid conditions over specific districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, and Tumakuru, over the next three days.
Moreover, the maximum temperature is expected to rise gradually by two to four degrees Celsius in certain districts of North and South Interior Karnataka over the next five days.
For Bengaluru city, partly cloudy skies are anticipated in the morning, clearing by afternoon/evening over the next 48 hours, with maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 36 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
