Agency (Chattisgarh): Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, strongly criticized Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav for his disparaging remarks about the Ram Temple, branding him “anti-Ram.” Sai expressed his disappointment after Yadav declined an invitation to the temple’s consecration and questioned Lord Ram’s existence. “We can’t expect anything from them,” Sai told the media in Jashpur where he had just voted in the ongoing third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
In a recent interview with a Hindi news channel, Ram Gopal Yadav, a cousin of the late Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, referred to the Ram Temple as a ‘bekar Mandir’ (flawed and useless temple). He criticized the temple’s construction, claiming it did not adhere to Vastu Shastra principles, calling it “useless” and the blueprint “flawed.”
Adding to the controversy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accused both the Samajwadi Party and its ally, the Congress, of being fundamentally ‘anti-Hindu’ and ‘anti-Ram.’ He argued that these parties had historically opposed Hindu interests, citing past actions against Kar Sevaks and denials of Lord Ram’s existence. “Ram Gopal Yadav’s statement has revealed the true stance of the INDI alliance, the Samajwadi Party, and the Congress,” Adityanath stated, accusing them of undermining Hindu faith to appease their voter base.
The third phase of the general elections commenced at 7:00 am on Tuesday, with 93 Lok Sabha seats across 12 states and union territories at stake. The regions participating in this phase include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Notably, the BJP has already won the Surat seat unopposed, and in Uttar Pradesh, the focus is on 10 key constituencies.
