Agency(Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami advocated for continued support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a campaign event in Chinyalisour. Dhami, rallying support for BJP candidate Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah in the upcoming Tehri Lok Sabha constituency election, highlighted the significant achievements of the BJP-led government both at the state and national levels.
Chief Minister Dhami outlined various national schemes introduced under Modi’s leadership, such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, which have collectively uplifted the living standards of millions of impoverished Indians. He also pointed to strategic legislative actions like the abrogation of Article 370, the enactment of the CAA, and the introduction of the triple Talaq law, positioning India as a stronger and more unified nation.
In Uttarakhand specifically, Dhami noted the state government’s implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, contrasting it with the Congress’s manifesto that proposes to uphold Muslim Personal Law. He also touched on local infrastructure developments, including a significant investment in transportation and the planned construction of a ropeway from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri, which alone is projected to cost over 166 crores.
Highlighting the contrast between the BJP and previous Congress governments in handling national security, Dhami recalled the lack of decisive action following the Mumbai attacks under Congress, versus the strong stance against Pakistan and terrorism under Modi’s leadership.
The Chief Minister also criticized the Congress party’s absence from the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, interpreting it as indicative of the party’s neglect of Hindu cultural values.
