Agency (New Delhi): Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Council Meet, drew parallels between the factions of the Mahabharata and the current political landscape, likening the NDA alliance led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Pandavas and labeling the opposition alliance, spearheaded by the Congress, as ‘Ghamandiya’. Shah criticized the opposition, terming the INDIA bloc as proponents of corruption, dynasty politics, and appeasement, in contrast to the BJP and NDA allies, whom he commended for adhering to the principle of ‘Nation First’.
In his address, Shah also criticized the Congress for not participating in the Ram Temple’s Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, attributing the temple’s construction to Prime Minister Modi’s efforts. He asserted that with a third consecutive electoral victory for the BJP, India would ascend to become the third largest economy globally.
Reflecting on India’s 75-year journey since Independence, Shah remarked that although there have been 17 Lok Sabha elections, 22 governments, and 15 Prime Ministers, comprehensive development across every sector and individual has been achieved exclusively under PM Modi’s decade-long governance.
Shah accused the Congress of being the epicenter of corruption, alleging that its allies, including the Aam Aadmi Party, were embroiled in numerous scandals like the liquor scam and Mohalla Clinic scam. He also accused the opposition of exploiting Dalits, Adivasis, and backward classes as vote banks, while commending the BJP government for duly recognizing these communities.
Labeling the Congress as ‘anti-democratic’, Shah claimed that Sonia Gandhi’s primary goal is to install Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister. In contrast, he praised PM Modi’s commitment to a corruption-free and development-oriented administration, aiming to make India fully developed and self-reliant by 2047.
Shah’s speech was marked by a series of allegations against Rahul Gandhi, the Congress, and the INDIA bloc, while he also highlighted the achievements of the Modi government, expressing gratitude to the people for their continued support in ensuring BJP’s electoral victories.
