Agency(New Delhi): On Wednesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh stated at a campaign rally in Saharanpur that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has significantly altered the public’s perception of politicians and their integrity. Addressing supporters of BJP candidate Raghav Lakhanpal, Singh remarked, “Previously, there was a widespread belief that politicians were merely vote-seekers who disregarded public and national interests. We have shifted this narrative by ensuring that our actions reflect our words.”
Singh highlighted that, unlike other parties, the BJP has followed through on key commitments such as the revocation of Article 370 and the abolition of triple talaq, reinforcing trust in political promises. He emphasized that these actions have helped overcome the ‘crisis of confidence’ that once plagued Indian politics.
Further illustrating India’s enhanced global standing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Singh referenced significant diplomatic achievements, including Modi’s role in securing safe passage for Indian students from Ukraine amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the release of retired Navy personnel in Qatar.
Singh also praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his improvements to the state’s law and order situation. He criticized the Samajwadi Party and Congress for misleading narratives and claimed widespread discontent with these parties across Uttar Pradesh. Singh noted that the Samajwadi Party frequently changes its candidates, while the Congress struggles to find election contenders, underscoring their precarious positions in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, where they are allied.
