Agency(Tamil Nadu): Election officials in Tamil Nadu conducted a routine inspection of the helicopter used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as he campaigned for the upcoming elections. The inspection was carried out by flying squad officials while Gandhi was en route to Wayanad, his parliamentary constituency in Kerala.
Following the inspection, Rahul Gandhi participated in a significant roadshow in Sulthan Bathery and interacted with students at the Arts and Science College in Wayanad. He is scheduled to continue his campaign with additional roadshows in Mananthavady, Vellamunda, and Padinjarathara and will address Congress party workers.
In addition to his campaign activities, Gandhi plans to meet with the bishop of the Mananthavady diocese. This meeting comes in the context of the screening of the controversial film ‘The Kerala Story’, which has sparked discussions nationwide.
During a rally in Wayanad, Gandhi criticized the prevailing political narrative that India should have only one leader, stating, “We did not get freedom from the British only to be colonised by RSS’s ideology.” His remarks underline his campaign’s focus on promoting democratic values and resisting ideological dominance.
