Agency(Rajasthan): During a rally in Rajasthan’s Bikaner, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi voiced strong criticism against the BJP-led government, claiming it has been unresponsive to the demands of farmers, young job seekers, and women affected by inflation. Highlighting the struggles of various societal groups, Gandhi emphasized the importance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in defending the country’s democracy and constitution.
Addressing the crowd, Gandhi described the elections as crucial for the rights of marginalized communities including backward classes, Dalits, tribals, and economically disadvantaged individuals in the general category. He supported his party’s candidates, Govind Ram Meghwal and Kuldeep Indora, reinforcing the Congress’s commitment to addressing key national issues such as unemployment and inflation—topics he claims are being overlooked by the media.
Gandhi accused the current administration of financial mismanagement, alleging that the BJP has extracted large sums from wealthy industrialists through electoral bonds while freezing Congress’s bank accounts. He contrasted this with his claim that the ruling party has waived loans for 15-20 major industrialists, funds which he argued could have supported MGNREGA wages for 24 years.
Furthermore, Gandhi claimed an unprecedented move by the government to tax farmers, marking a significant shift in India’s fiscal policy towards its agricultural sector. As the Lok Sabha polls approach, Gandhi assured that the promises outlined in the Congress’s manifesto would be fulfilled, aiming to bring substantial economic and social relief to the affected populations once in power.
