Agency(New Delhi): The Congress is actively opposing a “hate-filled demonic force,” according to former party president Rahul Gandhi. This statement comes shortly after his previous comment on combating a certain “power” led to a heated exchange and received a direct response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gandhi articulated his stance to journalists after a press conference at the All India Congress Committee headquarters, emphasizing the party’s struggle against a malign and hate-driven force.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), responding to Gandhi’s remarks, highlighted the national turmoil sparked by his initial statement. BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli criticized Gandhi, pointing out the confusion and controversy that followed his comments about combating a power within Hinduism. Gandhi’s remarks led to widespread discussion, and Prime Minister Modi responded assertively, championing every woman as an embodiment of “Shakti” and declaring his dedication to their safety.
During campaign rallies in Telangana and Karnataka, Prime Minister Modi leveraged Gandhi’s comments to frame the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a battle between those who seek to destroy and those who revere “Shakti.” Gandhi, on the other hand, clarified that his comments were not directed at any religious force but rather at the powers of injustice, corruption, and deceit. In a message on the social platform X, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of misrepresenting his words, suggesting that Modi was masquerading as the very force Gandhi aimed to combat. This exchange underscores a deepening rift in the political discourse, reflecting broader themes of conflict and misunderstanding in the lead-up to the elections.
