Agency(Dhanbad): During the 22nd day of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Dhanbad, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of potentially handing over Jharkhand’s steel mills, such as Bokaro, to billionaire friends. He alleged that this move is part of a broader pattern of economic injustice under the BJP-led central government, which he claims is intent on concentrating the nation’s wealth and resources in the hands of a few.
Gandhi criticized PM Modi’s economic policies, including demonetisation and the implementation of a faulty GST system, asserting that these measures have significantly damaged India’s economy. He attributed these policies to the widespread unemployment and the weakening of the industrial sector in the country.
Furthermore, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of transferring Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), traditionally significant employment generators, to his close associates. He warned the tribal communities that the BJP-led central government is determined to strip them of their land, forests, and water resources, despite the Congress party’s efforts to protect these through specific laws.
Rahul Gandhi reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to working for the welfare of the people, regardless of the challenges. He also stated that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra has been successful and vowed to continue fighting against the divisive ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He emphasized the party’s dedication to combating the spread of hate and violence propagated by the RSS.
These statements by Rahul Gandhi highlight the ongoing political discourse and opposition criticism of the current government’s economic and industrial policies, as well as the treatment of public resources and tribal rights.
