Agency (Haryana): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at a rally in Haryana’s Mahendragarh on Thursday, claimed that the Congress party would arrest anyone who says “Ram Ram” if it had its way. Modi accused Congress of dividing India and creating two Muslim nations to appease its vote bank.
As the campaigning for the sixth round of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections came to a close, Modi alleged that the INDIA bloc (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) is contemplating having five Prime Ministers over the next five years. He mocked this by saying, “The fight over ‘ghee’ has broken out in the alliance, even before the cow has given milk.”
Modi highlighted the Congress party’s truth, stating, “The Congress and the INDI alliance have their vote bank in the country.” He claimed the country was divided into “India and two Muslim nations” to appease the vote bank and accused the INDIA bloc of asserting that Muslims have the first right over the remaining part of India.
Targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose TMC party is part of the INDIA bloc, Modi criticized her refusal to accept the Calcutta High Court’s decision to cancel OBC certificates given to Muslims over the last 10-12 years. He assured the public that as long as he is alive, no one can snatch reservations for Dalits and tribals.
Modi also accused the INDIA bloc of being “extremely communal, casteist, and nepotist.” He alleged that Congress did not allow the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya while in power and rejected the invitation to the temple’s consecration ceremony.
He further claimed that an advisor to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi revealed that if Congress came to power, they would lock the Ram temple. “The Congress has insulted our ‘astha’ (devotion),” Modi stated.
Addressing the rally, Modi told the crowd that they were not only choosing the country’s Prime Minister but also deciding the country’s future. He contrasted himself as a “tried and tested ‘sewak'” against the unclear leadership of the INDIA bloc.
Modi derided the INDIA bloc’s idea of having five PMs in five years, questioning how a country could be run this way. He pointed out that at ‘chaupals’ in Haryana, people would come up with “5,000 jokes” about the INDIA bloc’s “five PM project.”
He alleged that the reservation meant for SCs, STs, and OBCs was being given to Muslims and infiltrators in Bengal, citing the recent High Court judgment. “What did they do in Bengal? They gave OBC certificates to Muslims overnight,” he said, accusing the Bengal CM of anti-reservation mentality.
Modi claimed that the INDIA bloc’s government is not likely to come to power for “saat janam” (seven lifetimes) and that every vote given to Congress is wasted. He accused the Congress of planning to bring back Article 370 if they come to power, which would separate Kashmir from India again.
Addressing the One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue, Modi accused Congress of deceiving ex-servicemen and claimed his government implemented OROP with an outlay of Rs 1.25 lakh crore. He said, “The Congress is full of hatred for the army and soldiers.”
Modi concluded by asserting that Congress has targeted the Election Commission on electoral data and electronic voting machines (EVMs) to lay the groundwork for blaming others for their anticipated defeat. He emphasized that his government had taken significant steps to ensure justice and reservations for marginalized communities while safeguarding India’s unity and integrity.
