New Delhi (Agency): On Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi severely criticized the ruling Congress government in Rajasthan. He pointed out a “red diary” allegedly containing the state government’s “dark deeds,” asserting that these disclosures would ensure the Congress’ defeat in the upcoming Assembly elections.
While addressing a public rally in Sikar, Modi introduced his contemporary version of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous Quit India slogan. “Mahatma Gandhi called for the British to Quit India, and they left. Today’s slogan is Corruption Quit India, Nepotism Quit India, and Appeasement Quit India.”
The “red diary” is another revelation from the Congress’s “loot ki dukan” (shop of loot), as per Modi. This diary supposedly records the Congress’ corrupt practices, which he believes will contribute to their defeat in the state elections.
This marks Modi’s seventh visit to Rajasthan, an election-bound state, within the past six months. He accused the Congress government in Rajasthan of looting the public and questioned the recent spate of recruitment paper leaks in the state.
Modi stated, “Under the guise of governing Rajasthan, Congress has established a ‘loot ki dukan’ within a ‘jhooth ka bazar’ (market of lies). The latest product from this ‘loot ki dukan’ is Rajasthan’s red diary.”
The alleged “dark deeds” of the Congress government are documented in this “red diary,” according to Modi. He suggested that the exposure of this diary would have repercussions on influential figures. “These individuals may stay silent, but this red diary will precipitate the Congress’ defeat in the Assembly elections,” Modi added.
The contentious “red diary” was recently presented in the state assembly by Rajendra Gudha, a dismissed minister. Gudha claimed that it contained details of irregular financial transactions allegedly conducted by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
In response, Gehlot retorted that the real loot was being committed by the Prime Minister through the high pricing of a ‘red cylinder’ (LPG cylinder), costing Rs 1,150. He dismissed the “red diary” as imaginary and accused the opposition of politicizing a non-existent issue. The Congress leader warned that the people of Rajasthan would show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a ‘red flag’ in due time.
Reaching out to the youth, Modi alleged that a ‘paper leak industry’ was flourishing in Rajasthan. He stressed the need to oust the Congress government to fulfill the aspirations of the younger generation. “Rajasthan will not tolerate atrocities on sisters and daughters,” he declared, indicating that the “lotus” – the BJP’s electoral symbol – will bloom in the state.
In light of the large crowd at the rally, Modi interpreted it as an endorsement of the BJP and a sign of its impending victory in the upcoming elections. He expressed certainty about the state’s impending transformation and the blossoming of the “lotus.”
He labeled the Congress as the country’s most aimless party, criticizing their slogans and their renaming strategies, citing examples from history like the East India Company and terrorist organizations. He noted, “Just as the East India Company’s intention was to loot India despite having ‘India’ in its name, so too is the Congress trying to confuse people with their renaming strategies.”
Modi argued that if the opposition truly cared for India, they wouldn’t resort to foreign interference, question the military’s operations, or remain passive during terror attacks.
He mentioned that the BJP government has consistently funded the development of roads and highways in Rajasthan, having provided a tax share of more than Rs 4 lakh crore in the last nine years, far exceeding the Congress government’s contribution during its tenure.
Modi also highlighted the Congress government’s failure to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme effectively, leaving Rajasthan lagging behind other states. He further mentioned the successful implementation of water connections in over nine crore new households across the country.
Earlier, Modi inaugurated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras, terming them one-stop centres for farmers to aid their prosperity. He assured the nation that his government was devoted to the welfare of farmers and would ensure the availability of urea at affordable prices.
Addressing Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s absence due to a foot injury, Modi conveyed his wishes for Gehlot’s speedy recovery.
