Agency(Patna): In a significant political gathering, the ‘Jan Vishwas Rally’ held in Patna, Bihar, emerged as a pivotal moment for the opposition INDIA bloc, showcasing a united front against the ruling party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The rally, organized by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) under Lalu Prasad Yadav’s leadership, attracted a multitude of supporters and top political figures, underscoring the opposition’s readiness to challenge the current political landscape.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, alongside party president Mallikarjun Kharge, marked their presence, solidifying the Congress’s support for the opposition coalition. The event also saw participation from Tejashwi Yadav, RJD’s face of youthful leadership, CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, and CPI General Secretary D. Raja, among others. Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, was another notable attendee, further emphasizing the broad-based opposition unity.
Held at the historic Gandhi Maidan, the rally not only served as a platform for political discourse but also highlighted the opposition’s commitment to issues like job creation. The slogan “Naukri matlab Tejashwi (Tejashwi means jobs)” resonated among the crowds, reflecting Tejashwi Yadav’s appeal and the opposition’s focus on employment as a key electoral issue.
This congregation in Patna is seen as a direct response to the ruling BJP’s extensive campaign efforts, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s packed schedule of attending 29 programmes across 12 states in the coming days. The opposition’s rally, thus, stands as a testament to their concerted effort to consolidate support and present a formidable challenge in the Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing themes of unity, governance, and public welfare.
