Agency(Jaipur): The Congress party has set April 6 as the date for the release of its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, to be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The announcement came from Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the party’s in-charge for Rajasthan, highlighting the participation of prominent Congress figures including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, and leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi at the event.
The decision was conveyed during a press interaction following a strategic meeting in the Congress’ ‘War Room’ in Jaipur. The gathering focused on fine-tuning the arrangements for the manifesto launch event, which is anticipated to draw substantial public interest. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra have been tasked with key responsibilities related to the event, aiming to maximize participation and enthusiasm among the party’s supporters and the general populace.
The initiative is part of the Congress’s effort to connect with voters by highlighting their critique of the central government’s performance over the past decade and presenting their vision for the future. This move also comes amidst internal discussions and candidate selections for the elections, with Randhawa addressing queries about changes in candidate nominations, a common occurrence in the pre-election phase across parties.
State president Dotasra took the opportunity to critique the BJP’s state administration, accusing them of engaging in superficial activities without making substantive contributions to the state’s welfare. He expressed confidence in the growing public enthusiasm for the Lok Sabha elections and criticized the use of electoral bonds, labeling it as a major scam.
The upcoming manifesto release event in Jaipur is poised to be a significant moment for the Congress, as it seeks to articulate its policies and goals to the electorate, rallying support for the electoral battle ahead.
