Agency( Karnataka): In a strategic move to bolster its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party’s top leadership announced significant appointments within the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Saturday. The decision includes the appointment of five influential political figures as the working presidents of the KPCC and the formation of a specialized three-member campaign committee dedicated to steering the party’s efforts in Karnataka.
The newly appointed working presidents are Tanveer Sait, a respected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Mysuru; G C Chandrashekhar, who serves as a Member of Parliament (MP); Vinay Kulkarni, an MLA representing Dharwad; Manjunath Bhandary, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC); and Vasanth Kumar, whose contributions and roles within the party have been noteworthy. This diverse team is expected to play a crucial role in unifying and leading the party’s campaign across the state, leveraging their collective experience and understanding of Karnataka’s political landscape.
Further enhancing its campaign strategy, the Congress has also established a three-member committee tasked with overseeing the campaign’s direction and execution. This committee is chaired by Vinay Kumar Sorake, a former minister known for his political acumen. Assisting him in this critical role are co-chairman Dr. L Hanumanthaiah, an MP with a deep understanding of the state’s political dynamics, and vice chairman Rizwan Arshad, an MLA from Shivajinagar, who brings a fresh perspective and youthful energy to the campaign.
Karnataka, with its 28 Lok Sabha seats, is set to hold elections in two phases, on April 26 and May 7. This strategic initiative by the Congress aims to strengthen its position and maximize its outreach to voters across the state, highlighting the party’s commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Karnataka.
