Agency (New Delhi): The Congress party has implemented a comprehensive social media strategy for the upcoming elections, with Rahul Gandhi personally engaging with the public through direct “speak to the camera” messages on various issues. Party sources revealed on Thursday that 20,000 volunteers are actively disseminating Gandhi’s messages and views through WhatsApp.
The main goal of this outreach is to connect directly with people, gather feedback on their issues and aspirations, and address these through the party’s Nyay Patra manifesto. The manifesto has already been downloaded by over 88 lakh people from the Congress website.
In addition to traditional methods like letters to party workers, rallies, and press conferences, Gandhi is using interactive sessions such as Yuva Nyay Manch, lectures on Samajik Nyay, and meetings with farmers and women in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka to connect with the public. His YouTube channel has amassed 5.6 million subscribers and approximately 350 million views in the past month. His Instagram account has over 190 million views and 7.9 million subscribers. On Twitter, Gandhi has 25.5 million followers, 6.3 million followers on his WhatsApp channel, and 70 lakh followers on Facebook.
Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, covering more than 4,000 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, and the 6,000-km Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai, have facilitated direct engagement with millions of farmers, youth, women, laborers, traders, and marginalized communities. These interactions have provided valuable insights into the grassroots sentiments and helped shape the party’s campaign strategies.
The “speak to the camera” mode allows Gandhi to address various issues directly to the public. The 20,000 committed volunteers, who are in regular contact with over 5 lakh people via WhatsApp, play a crucial role in this strategy. They share Gandhi’s posts, video messages, and YouTube links across WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms, ensuring widespread reach.
These volunteers maintain direct communication with Rahul Gandhi’s office and provide continuous feedback on the content shared, ensuring that the messages resonate with the audience and adapt to their concerns.
