Agency (Bengaluru): In a significant development in the scandal involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, Bengaluru Rural MP DK Suresh of the Congress party has accused former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and certain Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of being behind the release of the pen drive containing obscene videos attributed to Revanna. Speaking from his residence in Sadashivanagar, Suresh claimed these political figures had prior knowledge of the contents and released them to deflect blame onto Congress leader DK Shivakumar.
Suresh’s comments came in response to Kumaraswamy’s allegations that Shivakumar was responsible for the leak. He criticized Kumaraswamy for his continual targeting of Shivakumar and questioned the priorities of his accusations, suggesting that the focus should instead be on providing justice to the alleged victims in the case, reported to number over 500.
The Congress MP also touched upon the internal dynamics of the Janata Dal (Secular), which he described as being under the personal control of the Gowda family, indicating that membership actions such as suspensions are arbitrarily managed.
This controversy continues as Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cancel Revanna’s diplomatic passport following his alleged departure to Europe amidst the scandal. Revanna faces several charges including sexual harassment and intimidation based on complaints from his former housekeeper. This case has stirred a political storm, with various factions pointing fingers and claiming political sabotage.
