Agency (Patna): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in a recent media interaction, subtly criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for his alleged lack of knowledge about the state’s affairs. This interaction marks Kumar’s first media engagement since his departure from the INDIA bloc.
Kumar highlighted the developmental strides made in Bihar since his tenure began in 2005, contrasting the current infrastructure and safety with the pre-2005 scenario. He emphasized his role in the state’s development, pointing out the improved roads and buildings. Regarding Tejashwi Yadav, Kumar remarked, “Tejashwi was a child who did not know anything,” suggesting Yadav’s limited understanding of Bihar’s progress and challenges.
Addressing claims by Tejashwi Yadav regarding job creation, particularly in the education sector, Kumar labeled these assertions as baseless. He credited the “Saat Nischay Part 2 programme” as his vision for employment generation, dismissing Yadav’s claims of influence in this area.
Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement that he influenced Kumar to conduct a caste-based survey in Bihar, Kumar refuted this, detailing his plans for the survey dating back to 2019-20. He clarified that the decision to conduct the survey was a state initiative, despite the Centre’s reluctance to undertake a nationwide caste census.
On being queried about actions against the Lalu Prasad Yadav family, Kumar maintained his distance from the issue, indicating it as a matter handled by the central government.
Kumar also shed light on his decision to leave the INDIA bloc, citing disagreements over alliance naming and inaction on seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha poll. He reiterated his commitment to Bihar’s development as his primary focus post-exit from the alliance.
These statements by Nitish Kumar signify a firm stance on his administrative achievements in Bihar and a clear distancing from the political maneuvers of his opponents, emphasizing his dedication to the state’s continued development.
