Agency(New Delhi): Danish Ali, a suspended member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and a Lok Sabha MP, announced his participation in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, a rally led by Rahul Gandhi. The yatra is scheduled to pass through Ali’s parliamentary constituency, Amroha, in Uttar Pradesh this Saturday.
Ali expressed his enthusiasm for the event in a Hindi post on X, extending a warm welcome to Rahul Gandhi and highlighting the significance of the yatra in his constituency. He emphasized that the people of Amroha have always been supporters of the nation’s unifying forces and are committed to ensuring the success of Gandhi’s journey.
The Congress party, in its seat-sharing negotiations with the Samajwadi Party, had considered Amroha as a potential constituency for Ali. This move underscores the political dynamics within the region.
Ali’s support for the Nyay Yatra isn’t new; he previously joined the campaign at its commencement in Manipur. He remarked on the importance of participating in what he described as the “biggest drive for unity and justice,” considering his responsibilities as a politician.
The yatra is scheduled to continue on February 24 from Moradabad and will journey through several districts, including Amroha, Sambhal, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra, before entering Dholpur in Rajasthan on Sunday.
An important itinerary change was announced by the Congress: a break from February 26 to March 1. This pause will accommodate Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to deliver two special lectures at Cambridge University, his alma mater, in the UK on February 27 and 28. Gandhi will also attend significant meetings in New Delhi during this period. The yatra is set to resume from Dholpur at 2 pm on March 2.
The journey will then proceed through Morena, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Shajapur, and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. A notable event is scheduled for March 5 at 2 pm, when Rahul Gandhi will visit the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. His last visit to the temple was on November 29, 2022, during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
