New Delhi (Agency): In a recent meeting at Parliament, former Chief Minister and seasoned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, Basavaraj Bommai, met with party leader JP Nadda. Bommai expressed his wish for the quick naming of the BJP state president for Karnataka and the Leader of Opposition in the state.
Sources have revealed that Nadda promised Bommai a decision on these appointments once the current parliament session concludes.
Additionally, the discussions between Nadda and Bommai encompassed BJP’s game plan against the Congress in Karnataka, especially as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach. The sources mentioned, “During the meeting, the duo discussed the Congress government in Karnataka implementing the guarantees, how people are responding to the schemes, and what should be the BJP’s strategy to counter it ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and also how the Congress is working in Karnataka presently”.
Bommai’s engagement with central leaders didn’t stop with Nadda. On Tuesday, he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi to talk about the ongoing political changes in Karnataka. Sharing his experience of the meeting, Bommai tweeted, “I had a cordial meeting with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and discussed many issues of the state.” He also relayed his request to Shah regarding the prompt appointment of the state BJP’s head and opposition leaders in the Assembly, as informed by the same sources.
