LUCKNOW: BJP leadership is making preparations to achieve target to win all the 80 seats in Lok Sabha polls next year following alarming reports from the ground. BJP leadership has kept at least 20 seats including 18 where party candidates were defeated in 2019 polls on top priority. These seats include Azamgarh and Rampur where party lost in 2019 Lok Sabha polls but won in the by-elections.
It would be worth mentioning here that BJP won 64 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha polls while BSP got 10, Samajwadi Party five and Congress one. Samajwadi Party and BSP contested the elections in alliance. But Mayawati dissolved the alliance soon after the elections.
There have been several meetings by BJP leadership with state leaders regarding preparations for all the 80 Lok Sabha seats. But the ground report collected by the party observers has unnerved the leadership. In view of these reports the leadership has asked for the details regarding performance of individual MP. There is every possibility that certain MPs would be denied tickets this time.
Senior BJP leaders are aware about the estimated loss of party in other states and party would try to cover the gap with good number of seats. BJP leadership has yet to announce election incharge for UP and regional heads to supervise the arrangements. Similarly BJP’s large network of various front organisations are set for overhauling in view of Lok Sabha polls.
Recently PM Narendra Modi interacted with party leaders and workers and gave mantra to strengthen the booth management which would ensure victory of party candidates in Lok Sabha polls. These days BJP leaders all over the state are busy in following party program for large-scale mass contact where publications regarding achievement of nine years rule of Modi government is being distributed. Party has also started tiffin discussion to strengthen the organization.
This time social media incharge of the party has been instructed to get in touch with intellectuals, teachers and those having sympathy for the party. Smartphone contact at the ground level is being done in UP.
Beside these efforts, BJP national president JP Nadda will also hold meetings with region-wise state leaders. This time senior leaders including central ministers would be made in charge of two to three Lok Sabha constituencies.
Beside cementing alliance with Apna Dal of Anupriya Patel and Nishad Party of Sanjay Nishad BJP is all set to enter alliance with Suheldeo Bhartiya Samaj Party of Om Prakash Rajbhar. Much significance is being attached to presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Lucknow to pay tribute to Sonelal Patel founder of kurmi backward dominated Apna Dal.
Beside these preparations BJP is also finalising public rallies of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national President JP Nadda and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath in various parts of the state to cover all the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies. (IPA Service)
