New Delhi (Agency): Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has boldly challenged the opposition parties, daring them to announce a candidate for Prime Minister as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach. Athawale, who leads the Republican Party of India (Athawale), expressed unwavering confidence in the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), predicting they would secure over 350 seats and ensure Narendra Modi’s return as Prime Minister for a third term.
Speaking about the recent opposition party meeting in Bengaluru, Athawale stated that their sole agenda seemed to be opposing Modi. In contrast, he highlighted the NDA’s focus on the country’s development and the welfare of its people, which has garnered immense support for Modi. Athawale dismissed the opposition’s attempts to defeat Modi, asserting that it is not a task to be taken lightly.
While addressing the opposition’s meeting, Athawale pointed out that despite the attendance of leaders from various parties, they had failed to present a single candidate for Prime Minister. In contrast, the NDA has Narendra Modi as its sole candidate. Athawale challenged the opposition to follow suit and announce a unified candidate if they claim to be united.
Reaffirming his confidence in Modi’s popularity, Athawale stated that the Prime Minister is not only highly regarded in India but also globally. He criticized the opposition for their attempts to defame such a renowned leader and confidently asserted that Narendra Modi would emerge as Prime Minister once again in 2024.
Athawale also discussed the issue of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), emphasizing that it is not intended to target the Muslim community. He highlighted the UCC’s potential to strengthen the unity between Muslims and Hindus. Athawale encouraged Muslim community leaders to share their suggestions with the government regarding the UCC, while also urging Muslims to support the implementation of the code.
Responding to false propaganda, Athawale asserted that Modi is not against the Muslim community. He accused the Congress and other opposition parties of misguiding and instigating Muslims and Dalits. Athawale made it clear that Modi’s government is dedicated to protecting the Constitution and working for the welfare of all citizens. He called for support from opposition leaders, including Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, to unanimously pass the UCC in Parliament.
In addition, Athawale addressed the need for attention to the safety of Dalits, as he expressed concern over the increasing number of atrocities reported in Telangana. He appealed to Chief Minister Rao to review the situation and take measures to combat crimes against the oppressed community. Athawale emphasized that while expanding the party in other states may be commendable, it is essential to prioritize the well-being and security of Dalits in Telangana.
