New Delhi (Agency): Union Home Minister Amit Shah has accused the Congress party of practicing “minority appeasement” while highlighting the BJP government’s focus on the welfare of tribals, Dalits, the poor, and backward classes. Speaking at a public rally during the BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ in Mandla, Shah also expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory with more than 150 seats in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections scheduled for November this year.
Shah addressed the gathering during the launch of the BJP’s mass-contact program in the Mahakaushal region. He referenced former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement about minorities having the first claim on resources, noting that the Congress was excessively engaged in “appeasement of minorities.” Shah contrasted this approach with the shift that occurred when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014.
Modi’s government declared its dedication to working for the betterment of tribals, Dalits, the poor, and backward classes, who rightfully deserve access to resources. “Now, you have to choose between these two ideologies,” Shah asserted, highlighting the distinct paths offered by the two major political parties.
Shah emphasized that during the BJP’s nine-year rule, the Modi government at the center has focused on uplifting these marginalized sections of society. He underscored the substantial increase in the budget for tribal welfare under Modi’s leadership, with funding rising from Rs 24,000 crore during the Manmohan Singh government to an impressive Rs 1.19 lakh crore.
The BJP is conducting ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatras’ from five different locations in Madhya Pradesh, with the programs culminating on September 25 in Bhopal through a ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh.’ Prime Minister Modi is expected to address BJP workers in the state capital on that day, according to party sources.
After the Mandla event, Shah is scheduled to proceed to Sheopur in the Gwalior-Chambal region, where he will inaugurate another ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ and address a public rally, further showcasing the BJP’s outreach efforts.
In conclusion, Amit Shah’s address highlights the political contrast between the Congress party’s approach of “minority appeasement” and the BJP’s emphasis on the welfare of tribals, Dalits, the poor, and backward classes. With the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections on the horizon, Shah’s assertion of BJP’s prospects for more than 150 seats demonstrates the party’s confidence in its policies and strategies for the state’s electorate. The ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ symbolizes the BJP’s commitment to engaging with citizens and conveying its vision for the state’s development.
