Agency(Hyderabad): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the imminent implementation of several key guarantees promised during the Assembly elections. The CM declared that within a week, all white ration card holders (BPL families) in Telangana will receive 200 units of free electricity each month and have access to LPG cylinders at a reduced cost of Rs 500.
Additionally, the CM announced the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme from March 15 and committed to taking responsibility for waiving farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh. These initiatives are part of the Congress’s electoral guarantees.
Addressing a public meeting in Kosgi, Kodangal Assembly constituency, on his first visit to the constituency since taking office in December, CM Reddy also laid the foundation stones for various development projects totaling Rs 4,369 crore. He expressed gratitude to the people of Mahabubnagar district and Kodangal constituency for their support, which he credited for his ascent to the Chief Minister position.
CM Reddy criticized the previous rule of K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), alleging that Telangana suffered more under his administration regarding river water management than during united Andhra Pradesh’s rule. He accused KCR of allowing Andhra Pradesh to divert Krishna River water to the Rayalaseema region and not contributing significantly to Mahabubnagar’s development.
The CM also accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of having a secret understanding with the BJP and demanded an apology from BRS to the people of Mahabubnagar ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He criticized the BJP for failing to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of granting national status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project and the inefficacy of BJP MPs from Telangana.
Revanth Reddy announced Vamshichand Reddy as the Congress candidate for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat and urged a strong victory. He called upon Congress cadres to prepare for the upcoming battle, aiming to win 14 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The Chief Minister’s announcements and criticisms reflect a commitment to fulfilling election promises and a strategic approach to upcoming elections, focusing on welfare schemes and infrastructural development.
