Agency(New Delhi): On Sunday, it was announced by an official that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken action against a terror network by attaching four properties in Pune, deemed as “proceeds of terrorism” in connection with an ISIS module investigation. These properties, situated in the Kondhwa locality, are associated with eleven individuals charged in this case, among them three remain elusive. These locations were identified as centers for the construction of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), as well as for conducting training and orchestrating terror strategies.
The NIA, fulfilling its role in neutralizing threats posed by international terror entities within India, has already filed charges against all accused parties in this case initiated the previous year. The action to attach their properties was carried out under section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The implicated properties, comprising residential units or apartments, are tied to the accused: Mohammed Imran Khan, Mohammed Yunus Saki, Mohammed Shahnawaz Alam, Md Rizwan Ali, Kadir Dastagir Pathan, Simab Kazi, Zulfikar Ali Barodawala, Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh, Talha Liyakat Khan, Shamil Nachan, and Aakif Nachan, as per the agency’s spokesperson.
The investigation delineates a plot by ISIS to instigate terror across various regions in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and elsewhere in the nation. This scheme involved the conduct of workshops for IED fabrication, reconnaissance of forests for shooting exercises and establishing hideouts, along with the generation of terror funds through armed heists and theft.
In a concerted effort to dismantle the operational frameworks of this banned international terror group and protect national security, the NIA has intensified its crackdown on ISIS cells operating within different Indian states over recent months. The agency continues its thorough investigation into the conspiracy and the operational dynamics of ISIS, aiming to eradicate its presence and influence from the country.
