Agency (Bengaluru): In a bold move to uplift the lives of India’s poorest citizens, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its “Modi Ki Guarantee for Garib Parivar Jan” in its election manifesto. The centerpiece of this guarantee is the promise to provide free ration to over 80 crore citizens for the next five years under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which has been providing this crucial support since 2020.
The BJP has also committed to significantly expanding the PM Awas Yojana, which has already improved living conditions for over 4 crore poor families by providing them with pucca houses. The goal is to ensure quality housing for every poor family in the coming years.
Clean drinking water is another key focus area, with the party pledging “Har Ghar Nal se Jal” – tap water access for all households across villages, towns and cities. Advanced technology will be leveraged to minimize water wastage.
For the urban poor, the BJP plans to rehabilitate slum dwellers into high-quality housing by constructing houses on slum land through new policies. The successful PM Ujjwala Yojana, which has provided over 10 crore free LPG connections, will also be expanded further to ensure clean cooking fuel access.
In a transformative move, the manifesto promises free electricity for poor households under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, powered by solar energy. Healthcare also remains a priority, with the party committing to provide free and quality treatment by strengthening initiatives like Ayushman Bharat.
