Agency (New Delhi): In a fervent appeal to voters, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the significance of each vote in shaping not only personal futures but the broader destiny of India, amid the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. He urged the electorate to turn out in large numbers to defend democratic values and constitutional rights, warning against the country veering towards authoritarian rule.
During a post on X, Kharge articulated, “Vote to save the Constitution, vote to protect democracy! Today, 11 crore people in 93 constituencies have the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights, not just to choose representatives but to determine the direction of our nation.”
Kharge stressed the importance of making a wise decision that will foster an India where justice prevails, reflecting on the critical juncture the nation finds itself in. He introduced the Congress’s vision of “Nyay” (justice) which includes proposals like “Yuva Nyay” for an employment revolution, “Naari Nyay” to boost the social and economic independence of women, “Kisaan Nyay” to ensure fairness to farmers, “Shramik Nyay” for the welfare of laborers, and “Hissedari Nyay” to promote equality and equity.
Highlighting the stakes involved, Kharge said, “When you press that button on the EVM, remember that you are deciding the collective future of 140 crore Indians.” He also reached out to first-time voters, calling them the harbingers of change, and underscored the power of their vote to reinforce the constitutional framework of India.
“Let the sound of your vote be a sound for change. Come out in large numbers and vote wisely,” he concluded, rallying support for a democratic choice in the elections.
