Agency (New Delhi): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in an interview with ANI, questioned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) about their stance on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim of being “sent by Parmatma (God).” This query comes after PM Modi’s recent remark in an interview where he implied his divine origin.
Kejriwal remarked on the growing public dissatisfaction with the BJP, citing inflation and unemployment as major concerns. He criticized PM Modi for not addressing these issues and instead making derogatory comments about political opponents. Kejriwal noted that the public expects solutions to their problems, not abuses from their leaders.
“He (PM Modi) is saying that if you vote for the INDIA bloc, they will take one of your two buffalos, they will take away ‘tontis’ (tap), they will take away your ‘mangalsutra’. In Maharashtra, he said Sharad Pawar is a ‘bhatakti aatma’, Uddhav Thackeray is the fake son of his father,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal further took a jab at Modi’s followers, mentioning statements from BJP leaders Sambit Patra and JP Nadda, who have referred to Modi in divine terms. Kejriwal demanded that the RSS make their position clear on whether they consider Modi to be a deity.
“Nowadays, PM Modi is in a different world altogether. If you look at his last 10-12 interviews, he is openly saying that I am not a normal human, I am God’s avatar. I was not born out of my mother but directly emerged on this planet. Today, I want to ask the people of this country, do they also believe that PM Modi is God? We believe in Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, and Waheguru. How can we accept him as God?” Kejriwal questioned.
Kejriwal, who is currently out on interim bail until June 1 in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam, emphasized the importance of addressing real issues facing the country rather than indulging in self-aggrandizement.
AAP is contesting 22 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, with voting in Delhi having concluded on May 25. Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls on June 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
