Agency(Uttar Pradesh): Bhola Kaushika, once an aspiring engineer, veered off his path dramatically to become an arms supplier, a transition that underscores a tragic deviation from ambition to criminality. Arriving in Kota, Rajasthan, at the age of 17 with dreams of cracking the IIT-JEE, his life took a dark turn. By 2018, Kaushika found himself embroiled in a murder case, which led to his incarceration in a juvenile home. It was there, amidst other delinquent youths, that his journey into the underworld began.
Upon his release, Kaushika, also known as Bhola Pandit, embraced a life of crime, establishing himself as a prominent arms dealer for various criminals across Uttar Pradesh. At the age of 23, his criminal activities caught up with him, leading to his arrest by the Kota City Police in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. This arrest came after the apprehension of three youths involved in violent crimes in Kota and Baran districts, where investigations revealed their connections to Kaushika.
During his remand, Kaushika confessed to supplying approximately 45 country-made pistols and hundreds of cartridges to individuals in Kota, shedding light on the scale of his operations. Efforts to apprehend his associates and clients, many of whom have criminal records, are ongoing.
Kaushika’s foray into the criminal world began after his ambitions to join the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) were dashed. He had dedicated two years to preparing for the entrance exam but was forced to abandon his studies following his involvement in a murder case. This case, which involved the killing of an elderly woman in Kota, marked the beginning of his descent into crime.
The police also revealed that Bhola’s elder brother, Girish Pandit, is implicated in similar criminal activities, dealing arms to offenders in Kota. Girish Pandit remains at large, with law enforcement actively seeking his capture.
This story, emerging from Kota, a city renowned for its competitive exam coaching centers, highlights a profound and distressing fall from grace. From an aspirant engineer to a notorious arms dealer, Bhola Kaushika’s journey is a stark reminder of the fine line between ambition and criminality.
