Agency (Ramgarh/Giridih): During a series of election rallies in Jharkhand, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid out an ambitious agenda that the BJP plans to undertake should they achieve a landslide victory in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Sarma stated that a major electoral win, surpassing 400 seats, would enable the BJP to merge Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) with India and implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the country.
Sarma drew parallels to the BJP’s past accomplishments following their significant win in 2019, such as the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, and the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He emphasized that achieving a similar milestone in this election would facilitate not only territorial integration but also the realization of long-standing BJP pledges like the construction of the ‘Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi’ temple and ‘Gyanvapi temple’.
In his speeches, Sarma also addressed local issues, accusing the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress of demographic manipulation through the alleged appeasement of Bangladeshi infiltrators, claiming they were marrying local tribal women to alter the demographic profile of Jharkhand, similar to patterns observed in Assam.
Highlighting corruption under the current state alliance, Sarma referred to recent cash seizures linked to opposition leaders as evidence of their misgovernance. He contrasted this with the BJP’s vision of a transparent and efficient administration focused on the needs of the poor and deprived.
Sarma’s remarks also touched on social issues, asserting that the BJP’s policies were gaining support among Muslim women who oppose the practice of polygamy, and criticized the educational impact of madrassas, advocating instead for institutions that promote modern professions like engineering and medicine.
