Agency(New Delhi): The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that the initial registration window for H-1B visas for the fiscal year 2025 is set to close on March 22. The H-1B visa, a non-immigrant category, is vital for U.S. firms wishing to employ international workers in specialized fields that necessitate theoretical or technical expertise, such as in the technology sector. This program is heavily relied upon by technology companies to recruit thousands of employees annually from nations including India and China.
USCIS specified that the deadline for the initial registration period for these highly coveted H-1B visas, aimed at foreign guest workers, is at noon Eastern Time (9:30 pm IST) on March 22. During this timeframe, potential petitioners and their legal representatives are required to use the USCIS online account system to register each candidate electronically for the selection process and to remit the registration fee for each individual.
Additionally, users of online accounts will have the capability to work collaboratively on registrations and petitions, thanks to improved features for organizational accounts available in their online profiles. USCIS has made both Form I-129, which is the petition for a nonimmigrant worker concerning H-1B petitions, and Form I-907, which is the request for premium processing service, accessible through USCIS online accounts, as stated in a press release.
The USCIS will commence accepting online submissions for H-1B cap petitions starting April 1. The agency also mentioned that it would provide an update regarding when online filing for non-cap H-1B petitions will be available, ensuring applicants and employers are informed of their options for application submissions beyond the initial registration period.
