Agency (New Delhi): On Thursday, Gurugram police arrested Manoj Bhardwaj, alias Manav, for killing 31-year-old Rishabh Jasuja, an IT company manager, by running him over with a car. Bhardwaj was apprehended by a police crime unit team from IFFCO Chowk.
The incident occurred late Sunday night in South City 2 on Sohna Road. Following an argument, Bhardwaj allegedly thrashed Rishabh Jasuja and his brother Ranjak Jasuja before running them over with his car. Rishabh was dragged for several meters on the car’s bonnet, resulting in his death. Ranjak, who was also dragged, was critically injured but is now stable and under treatment.
Police reported that Bhardwaj, a 36-year-old resident of Sector 49, became enraged over parking issues related to a PG (paying guest accommodation) recently acquired by the Jasuja brothers in his street. Bhardwaj complained about the road being frequently blocked by parked vehicles and confronted the Jasuja brothers, leading to a violent altercation.
During the fight, Bhardwaj’s cousin Surendra and a friend joined in, assaulting Rishabh and Ranjak. In a fit of rage, Bhardwaj got into his Hyundai Creta, hit the brothers, and dragged them for around 20 meters. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
An FIR was registered at the Sector 50 Police Station on Monday. “The injured brother of the deceased is still being treated in the hospital and his condition is stable now. We are conducting raids to nab the other accused,” said Varun Dahiya, ACP Crime.
Bhardwaj is currently being questioned and will be taken on police remand after being presented in court.
