Agency (Jaipur): Ashok Gehlot, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and a Congress leader, has remarked that the Congress party’s manifesto has become more popular following criticism from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Gehlot, there has been a surge in the number of people downloading the manifesto, reaching into the lakhs.
In a conversation with ANI, Gehlot expressed that public sentiment is aligning more with Congress, as their manifesto addresses key issues such as inflation, unemployment, and social harmony, which resonate with the electorate. “The manifesto’s guarantees have appealed to the public, and its criticism by the Prime Minister has only increased its popularity,” Gehlot noted.
Additionally, Gehlot commented on the withdrawal of the Congress candidate from Indore, suggesting that the BJP’s intimidating tactics have deterred political participation. He accused the BJP of undermining democratic principles through the misuse of government agencies and electoral bonds, aiming to alter the Constitution for its own ends.
Gehlot also highlighted concerns regarding the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, citing rare adverse symptoms reported by some patients. He urged the Indian government to investigate these incidents thoroughly to reassure the public. “There have been numerous post-COVID health issues attributed to the vaccine, and even the courts have acknowledged this,” he added, calling for comprehensive research by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to assess the vaccine’s long-term effects.
