Agency(Bihar): The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially requested “concrete evidence” from the state’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) concerning the purported leakage of the question paper for the teacher recruitment examination before the test commenced. This demand was articulated in a statement released by the BPSC on Monday, clarifying that any decision regarding the examinations conducted on March 15 would be contingent upon the evaluation of such evidence.
“The report from the EOU regarding the alleged leak of the Teachers Recruitment Exam (TRE)-3 question paper submitted to the BPSC lacked definitive proof to substantiate that the leakage occurred prior to the exam’s start,” according to the BPSC’s announcement. In response to the suspected leak of the TRE-3 question paper, the EOU formed a specialized team that conducted raids in various locations within Hazaribagh on March 15, as disclosed by the commission. The BPSC was initially alerted to the potential leak by the EOU at approximately 2:30 pm on March 15. By this time, the morning session of the exam had concluded at noon, and the afternoon session had commenced at 2:30 pm.
The ongoing investigation into the alleged question paper leak is being carried out by the EOU. The commission has reiterated its call for “concrete evidence and necessary information” from the EOU regarding the leak. Based on the evidence received, the BPSC will make an informed decision regarding the legitimacy of the March 15 examinations.
Nayyar Hasnain Khan, the Additional Director General (ADG) of the EOU (Bihar Police), in a conversation with PTI, stated, “An FIR was lodged, and 266 individuals were apprehended in relation to the TRE-3 paper leak case. The investigation was conducted methodically, gathering evidence related to the case, which was also presented before the appropriate court. The investigation is proceeding and is currently at a critical juncture.”
The BPSC executed the TRE-3 on March 15, aiming to recruit Primary and Middle School Teachers through an offline examination process.
