Agency (New Delhi): After the swearing-in ceremony of the third Modi government’s council of ministers, all attention is now focused on who will become the next president of the BJP. The current party chief, J.P. Nadda, has been inducted into the Cabinet.
Nadda, along with senior leaders Bhupender Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Dharmendra Pradhan, has been sworn in as Cabinet ministers. This move paves the way for a new leader to take the helm of the BJP.
Former ministers who did not make it into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new council are anticipated to be assigned roles within the party. Nadda took over as party president from Amit Shah in January 2020. Other ministers who have previously led the party include Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh. Nadda’s extended term as the BJP chief is set to conclude this month.
