Agency(New Delhi): The BJP has launched a sharp critique of the Congress party’s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, labeling it a “bundle of lies” and accusing the Congress of failing to fulfill past promises. BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi voiced these criticisms, emphasizing the party’s view that the Congress manifesto aims to sow confusion among voters.
Trivedi attacked the Congress for its use of imagery in the manifesto, particularly highlighting a photo of the Buffalo River in New York used to represent water management and a picture from Thailand under the Environment section. These images, he claimed, indicate a disconnect with Indian realities and a penchant for foreign visuals, which he linked to broader accusations of the Congress party defaming India on international stages.
Additionally, the BJP spokesperson critiqued historical assertions made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, who stated that India did not manufacture even a needle before the Congress-led government’s industrial initiatives. Trivedi countered this claim by referencing pre-independence achievements such as C.V. Raman’s Nobel Prize in 1930 and the establishment of the Indian Institute of Science in 1909, suggesting that these examples contradict the Congress’s narrative.
This exchange highlights the heightened rhetoric between the two major political parties as they prepare for the Lok Sabha elections, with each seeking to undermine the other’s credibility and vision for India’s future.
