Agency(New Delhi): In a shocking event captured on video, cow protector Bittu Bajrangi, previously implicated in disturbances in Nuh, was allegedly seen beating a man with a stick in the presence of a police officer, according to authorities on Wednesday. The incident has led to Bajrangi facing legal charges, and the officer involved is under review for potential suspension.
The assault’s target, Shyamu, reported that Bajrangi attacked him under the false belief he was Muslim. Shyamu recounted his ordeal, stating he was simply escorting a girl to purchase chocolates when he was forcibly taken to Bajrangi’s residence by some individuals. The distressing footage revealed Bajrangi, recognized for his cow vigilantism, and others, assaulting Shyamu, who lives in Faridabad’s Sanjay Enclave.
Shyamu’s official complaint at the Saran Police Station detailed that the attack occurred as he accompanied a girl to a store for chocolates on Monday. He was apprehended and brought to Bajrangi’s home, where he was held down, beaten with sticks, and faced death threats. “That girl is like my daughter, but due to a misunderstanding, I was brought to Bittu Bajrangi, who attacked me thinking I belonged to the Muslim community,” Shyamu elaborated in his statement.
Following Shyamu’s complaint, the police filed an FIR against Bajrangi and his allies on Wednesday, citing multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including causing harm, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, and collective action towards a common intent. “An FIR has been lodged, and we’ve proposed the suspension of the involved officer to the higher authorities. Our investigation is ongoing, and we will apprehend the accused promptly,” Station House Officer Sangram Dahiya stated. Bajrangi, previously detained for his role in the Nuh violence and currently out on bail, faces renewed scrutiny for his actions.
