Agency (New Delhi): Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced on Monday that the BJP’s slogan of ‘400 paar’ indicates their impending defeat on over 400 Lok Sabha seats, suggesting that the party is focusing on winning only the remaining 143 constituencies.
During a poll rally in Siddarthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, in support of the SP candidate, Yadav criticized the BSP for winning just one seat “by mistake” in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections two years ago. He urged voters to stay vigilant against them in the current general elections.
Yadav has frequently accused Mayawati’s BSP of aiding the BJP in parliamentary elections, similar to what he claims happened in the 2022 UP elections. He reiterated this stance during his address, stating, “By ‘400 paar,’ they mean that they will lose as many seats to the opposition in this election and are working to secure the remaining 143 seats.”
The SP leader also repeated allegations against the BJP government, claiming they collected substantial amounts from vaccine companies for the Covid-19 vaccine supply contract. “Fortunately, I did not take the corona vaccine. Those who took it are reporting medical complaints now,” Yadav said.
He reaffirmed the INDIA bloc’s commitment to providing free high-quality packed “aata (flour) and data” to the people. Yadav also alleged that under Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s rule, police and other government recruitment exam question papers were leaked over ten times, affecting around 60 lakh youths in the state. “Has he ever ordered bulldozing properties of those involved in the question paper leaks?” Yadav asked, taking a dig at the chief minister.
This statement is part of Yadav’s ongoing campaign to galvanize support for the Samajwadi Party and criticize the BJP’s governance and electoral strategies.
