Agency (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asserted on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form the government again, claiming it is Lord Ram’s wish for his “ardent devotee” to win. He made these remarks during rallies in Barabanki and Rae Bareli, where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting the Lok Sabha elections.
“Only ‘Ramdrohis’ or Pakistanis are opposing Modi ji,” Adityanath declared at a public meeting in Rae Bareli. He questioned Rahul Gandhi’s relationship with Pakistan, implying that Gandhi seeks votes in India but receives support from Pakistan. Adityanath alleged that voices from Pakistan and those opposing Ram have become similar, referencing a Pakistani minister’s support for Congress in Rae Bareli.
Adityanath responded to Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s criticism of PM Modi by asking what Congress had accomplished during its 65 years of rule. In Barabanki, he emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, development schemes have benefited everyone, regardless of caste or community.
“Our beloved Lord Ram also wants his ardent devotee to take over the reins of the country once again,” Adityanath asserted. He described the current political climate as a “Modi wave” that has turned into a “tsunami.”
Criticizing the Congress and Samajwadi Party, Adityanath accused them of a history of scams and failures, highlighting issues like hunger, farmer suicides, and youth migration during their tenure. He contrasted this with the achievements under Modi’s leadership over the past decade, such as providing free ration to 80 crore people and benefiting 12 crore farmers through the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Voting in the Barabanki and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seats is scheduled for the fifth phase on May 20.
