Agency(Pune): A bizarre incident of corporate sabotage unfolded in Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad area, where an automobile company was shocked to find ‘condom samosas’ among their canteen supplies. This act was reportedly orchestrated by a former subcontractor aiming to defame the current supplier. The Pune police reported that two workers and three partners from two different subcontracting firms are implicated in this scandal.
Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt Ltd, tasked with provisioning the auto firm’s canteen, had outsourced the samosa-making to Manohar Enterprises. However, some employees discovered inappropriate items like condoms, gutka (chewing tobacco), and stones inside the samosas on Saturday. Following this discovery, police action was swiftly taken against five individuals involved.
The main suspects are two workers, Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, who were reportedly planted by the three ousted partners of another firm, SRA Enterprises. These partners had lost a previous contract due to an incident involving a contaminated snack. Their motive, according to the police, was to sabotage Manohar Enterprises’ reputation and regain their lost business.
The police have charged the involved parties under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including “causing hurt by means of poison” and “criminal conspiracy”. Investigations have led to the arrest of one individual as authorities continue to delve deeper into the matter. This case highlights the intense rivalries and unethical tactics sometimes present in business subcontracting relationships.
